Anatomy of an SEO Campaign

  1. Research and determine your core set of keywords.
  2. Create your content - 500+ words minimum.
  3. Strategic use of singular and plural keywords on your landing page.
  4. Integrate your main keyword(s) into the title, meta description, H1 tag and URL.
  5. Write your marketing copy using your keyword in the first 30 or so words with one to 3 other targeted keyword variations for optimal contextual link development.
  6. Using the keyword variations, link to your internal category pages for support of the keyword clusters.
  7. Build atleast half a dozen internal links from other pages. These pages should contain some type of semantic relevance for the target pages' keywords.
  8. Move on to deep linking; Take care not exceed a natural occurrence of each keywords anchor text occurrence - up to seven instances of the main keyword, five of secondary and three of any of the alternative keyword synonyms. Focus on developing roughly a dozen or so deep links.
  9. Now concentrate on building commercial appeal by using syndication and social media.
  10. Let it all marinate..

If a page is developed properly, optimized with internal links, optimal internal page structure, keyword density and has good deep linkage, then expect a SERP debut between page 3 to 5 within a few weeks, providing the keywords chosen are not overly competitive.
